Good evening, good morning, or good afternoon wherever you may be pals! I'm typing this blog up at 2:38 AM because I had originally planned to take a quick little catnap at 6:00 PM right after cross country practice but end up waking up 3 hours later... I ended up sleeping basically so now I'm suffering the consequences! It's actually not too shabby really because 1. I finished watching CT Fletcher's documentary on Netflix which was super motivating by the way! I would highly recommend watching it most especially if you're finding yourself in a slump and/or trying to get back into the gym. I literally fell in love with the guy by the end of the film! 2. I figured since I'm up I pour my energy into my blog for kicks and gigs :-)
Before I get started with my review, just wanted to let you guys know I recently made the decision (thanks to Lei Lei especially!) to start uploading all my food and blog related posts onto @kristinejiao on Instagram rather than @twats.
@stripedsandals a.k.a. Lauren a.k.a. LL a.k.a BABE asked me this morning when I dropped off 2 test cookies (I live in her hood now!!) as to why I made @kristinejiao and I was thinking of future opportunities. Hypothetically if my food posts were to get recognized, I don't think they'd be too thrilled about advertising "@twats' food", you know? So I figure I make a more professional account to better present myself online! Sweet, huh??
Anyway, onto the food!! Today was my day off from both the YMCA and Best Buy so I went ahead and took myself out to lunch♡I wanted to try something new, specifically something vegan and/or vegetarian so I finally got around to trying out this adorable vegan Thai restaurant tucked away in University Heights. The name itself caught my eye because I just adore plumerias :-)
Oh my goOoodness, just thinking about these is making my mouth water. I'm not even exaggerating! I don't if you guys stumbled upon my spring rolls blog entry but I talk about how I became slightly obsessed with spring rolls since my first job last year neighbored a Vietnamese restaurant. My obsession has grown because of these right here--no lie. The spring roll itself is amazing but the peanut dipping sauce makes it beyond amazing--heck, to infinity and beyond! The fact that the peanut sauce was served warm with all types of peanut butter goodness just made it for me. Don't tell my mom but I think I'm in love!
I'll be frank like Sinatra--I totally inhaled those spring rolls in record time so as much as I liked the tangerine chicken, I don't think I was able to thoroughly enjoy all its glory because of my already stuffed stomach. How incredible does this dish look though??! The vegan chicken was on point especially with the perfectly fried crispy batter. Honestly, you can't really go wrong with anything fried, let's be real.
I chose this particular dish because Bob got me into Panda Express' orange chicken last year. I was skeptical at first when I read tangerine but immediately put two and two together and figured it was just their unique take on orange chicken. So, so tasty!! I was also stoked about the steamed broccoli which was steamed just the right amount of bite :-)
I already can't wait for my next visit! Hope you guys enjoyed this food review. Let me know if you have any recommendations of where to go next! Have a wonderful rest of your day everyone ♡ XOXO
