Good morning sunshines!
I was combing through old photos I took last year and stumbled upon one of my favorite shots and most importantly, one of my favorite breakfast dishes so I figure I cover this recipe briefly :-)
I remember at one point in my life I was obsessed with counting macronutrients and tracking my food through Myfitnesspal. Thankfully that phase is over because since I had to hit a certain number of grams of protein, fats, and carbs, I found myself eating usually the same meals. I always need a change of pace or some sort of variety whenever it comes to my meals and anything really now that I think of it. Hmmm hahaha anyway, here are the waffles I would whip up in my dorm and later, in my kitchen on Saturday mornings, usually :-) With a whopping 21g of protein, these waffles will leave you satisfied throughout the day especially with the extra toppings if you choose to add any.
Oh! Almost forgot to mention - I used the Kodiak Cakes' flapjack and waffle mix brand that I found at Costco. These mixes are sole reason as to why these waffles hold so much protein so definitely look into purchasing this specific brand if you want all the protein goodness.
Directions from the box -
Blend or whisk ingredients together. Cook waffles on a preheated, lightly oiled waffle iron until steam stops and waffles are golden brown (waffle iron lid should lift without sticking).
Top with your favorite toppings such as fruit, Greek yogurt, cinnamon, maple syrup, granola, nut butters, ... the list goes on but that's all I can list from the top of my head :-) Enjoy guys!
